Create A Better Online Dating Site Profile
The competition for attracting
attention on online dating services is pretty intense. So much so, that
some members will resort to lying or posting outdated photos on their
profiles in an effort to look younger and in their eyes, more desirable.

important that you be as truthful as possible in the detail on your
profile and you must use current photos.

1) Always try to be positive and avoid the mention
of anything negative. Can you imagine going out on a first date and
the person you're with complains about their work or ex? Negative

Here's an example of how not to begin your profile: "To be honest

"I've heard that online dating is a good way to meet some awesome people
and that's why I would love to meet you". So which of these profile introductions do you consider to be the more attractive? The one who thinks she will date "losers" or the one who is looking forward to dating "winners"? Psychologically everyone would like to be a winner. So therefore when creating your profile, avoid the mention of anything negative like the plague. Only mention the things you like and never talk about what you don't like.. Always be positive.
If there is anything negative in your profile, for example "I dislike country music", "the last man I dated was a liar and a cheat", "I'm sick of being on my own", "I'm fed up with the bar scene" etc. then you should go and edit it out immediately and replace it with something like "I love rock music and my favorite band is...". So stay positive, and not just in your profile, but also in your life.
2) Go From being Typical to almost Unique
Read this profile description and tell me if you recognize it. "I'm a fun person and I love movies and music. I enjoy walks on the beach, quality conversation, and fine dining. I'm looking for someone who is fun to be with and can make me laugh." Unfortunately, this text describes most profiles - being typical and not in the slightest way informative. Make your profile more exciting.. be descriptive and unique. Instead of writing "I like movies", better to write "my favorite movie is ... because ..." or use a character from a movie to describe yourself. For example: "I'm a lot like ..... in ..... because ....."
Try to employ clever words that are descriptive. Instead of saying "on hot days I enjoy going to the ocean or maybe a hike," try writing, "on a gorgeous day theres nothing better than exploring the ocean on a sailboat or discovering a brand new waterfall I can cool off under." Make your profile a work of art and spice it up sentence by sentence. First impressions are important and you want your profile to stand out from the rest. Be descriptive, fun and above all unique!
3) Filter Out The Unwanteds
Your profile isn't just there to get responses. You want it to get you responses from the type of person that attracts you. Therefore, you should use descriptions that will be effective in narrowing your search for the type of person that appeals to you the most.. Instead of "I'm looking for someone who is humorous and fun to be with," write, "I'm looking for a lighthearted guy between the ages of 25 and 30 who enjoys the fun side of life. If you are clean-shaven and can hold a conversation throughout a 150 mile car journey, then we may just be a match. Email me soon." In the above example, you created three filters - an age filter (25 and 30), an appearance filter (clean-shaven) and a communication filter (good-conversationalist). And you did that without offending. But you have also created a response filter ("...we may just be a match. Email me.") You let the other party know what the next step is if they pass through your first three filters. Your call to action will help direct the interested parties to email you versus waiting.
