OTTAWA – 28th Aug 2009 - The bitter taste continues for an Ottawa man who has been accused of using an Internet online dating service to con several women into making investments into a bogus imported wine grapes scheme.
More alleged victims have reported to police following charges made earlier this month against Angelo Morena, aged 49. During the past couple of weeks, a number of women have contacted police with allegations that a man they had met through an online dating service had convinced them to invest their money in importing grapes from Italy and California.
Morena now faces three counts each of fraud and offering false pretences over $5,000. Morena also faces six charges concerning breach of probation.
